Pre-Vocational studies as a subject is a new UBE subject curriculum created from the integration of Agricultural Science and Home Economics. This subject has been designed to meet the need of the students in Junior Secondary Schools for skills acquisition and afford them the opportunities to develop interest towards self–reliance and entrepreneurship after formal education. Both Agricultural Science and Home Economics are closely related. Agriculture serves as a source of raw materials for Home Economics and Home Economics is a vocation that adds value to agriculture to achieve optimum profit. This textbook has been designed to meet the above needs of students in line with Nigerian Educational Research And Development Council (NERD) to attain Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
